When Diego Simeone arrived at Atletico Madrid, he seemed to provide a breath of fresh air to the club. A team that struggled defensively for the better part of a year was turned around instantly, and they kept clean sheets on a regular basis in January and February much like his Racing Club side had in the Apertura in Argentina. However, things aren’t going as well at the moment, and Atleti find themselves seven points out of fourth place. They’re in need of a result against rivals Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Atletico Madrid Vs. Real Madrid, 2012 La Liga Week 32: Can Atleti Salvage Their Season?
Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are both in danger of falling behind in their respective races and are in need of a good result on Wednesday.

Of course, Real Madrid need a win almost as badly. They'll still control their own destiny in the title race even if they lose to their cross-town rivals, but Barcelona have closed the previously massive gap between the two teams, and Jose Mourinho would like to go into El Clasico in a situation where a draw is good enough for his side.
Eduardo Salvio, Miranda and Mario Suarez are all out for Atletico Madrid. Real Madrid are dealing with no serious injury issues, giving Mourinho a big team to pick from. He’ll likely do a little bit of squad rotation and make a couple of changes from this weekend’s team.
