Roberto Mancini says that Mario Balotelli will never play for Manchester City again, but he won't be managing the Citizens next season, so can he really make such a statement? Balotelli, or his agent, sure don't think so.
Mario Balotelli Staying At City, AKA, He Likes Money A Lot
“I’m in Manchester, but it has nothing to do with the transfer market,” Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola said. “There is no intention by Manchester City to sell the player. [Balotelli] has always stated that he is happy in Manchester and finding his balance.”
Raiola went on to rubbish any reports of his client leaving for Inter Milan or another club in Italy, insisting that the striker will stay with City. He threw out all of the usual niceties -- that Balotelli made mistakes and is learning from them, that he and the club are on good terms, blah, blah, blah.
Let’s get down to what really matters here: City are paying Balotelli £100,000 per week. Is anyone else going to pay him that? Of course not. So Balotelli isn’t going anywhere, because why would he give up that kind of money? And you can bet that his agent doesn’t want to take a percentage of lower wages. Balotelli at City fo’ lyfe!
