Giuseppe Rossi's dreams of playing for Italy at Euro 2012 have been shattered thanks to another injury to his knee. The Villarreal striker tore his ACL in training on Friday, marking the second time in sixth months that he's suffered an ACL tear to his knee. This one will keep him out an additional six months, meaning Euro is out of the picture, as is the beginning of next season for Villarreal.
Giuseppe Rossi Tears ACL Again, Will Miss Euro 2012
Giuseppe Rossi tore his ACL for the second time in sixth months and will face another six-month layoff.

Rossi first injured his knee in October in a match against Real Madrid, tearing his ACL and sidelining him for six months. He just recently returned to training and was going through a light session on Friday when his ACL gave out again.
Without Rossi, Villarreal has slumped from a Champions League place last season to 17th place this season. They finished seventh in La Liga in goals last season, helped by Rossi’s 18 in the league and 32 overall, but they find themselves all the way down at 16th in goals this season.
Italy were also hoping for Rossi to make a full recovery ahead of Euro. He's scored six times in 27 caps for the Azzurri and had established himself as a first choice striker for the team, but with him ruled out, they will have to look elsewhere. Speculation is that even Mario Balotelli might get a look.
