If Estudiantes Tecos do not defeat Puebla on Friday night, they could be relegated for the first time in their history. With three games remaining in the season, they trail second-bottom side Atlas by five points in the aggregate relegation table. Atlas seem unlikely to take points off Monterrey in their match, but they have been decent at snatching low-scoring draws during the Clausura.

Tijuana can clinch a Liguilla place this week, while Tecos are inching closer to relegation. America-Santos is by far the best game of the week.
Friday’s other match is also huge, but in a different part of the table. Eighth placed Jaguares Chiapas host seventh placed Club Tijuana as both teams look to solidify their Liguilla standing. If Tijuana wins and the Cruz Azul-Toluca match on Sunday ends in a draw, the Xolos will clinch a Liguilla place. Both teams in that Sunday match trail Jaguares by two points and Tijuana by five.
Those three matches are the most meaningful, but the highest quality football is likely to be found at Estadio Azteca. In one of the early Saturday matches, a Club America side fresh off a 1-0 victory over rivals Chivas Guadalajara face Santos Laguna, who are on top of the table in Mexico. Because Santos are secure in their Liguilla place, they could opt to rest some first choice players ahead of the CONCACAF Champions League final.
