Hoffenheim’s chances at securing a place in Europe took a hit with the club announcing that midfielder Roberto Firmino would miss the remainder of the season with an ankle injury. The young Brazilian tore ligaments in his right ankle during Sunday’s Baden-Württemberg Derby against SC Freiburg.
Hoffenheim’s Roberto Firmino Out Remainder Of Season With Ankle Injury
Hoffenheim’s talented midfielder Roberto Firmino will miss the remainder of the season after injuring his ankle.

“We were afraid that the injury might’ve been even worse at first. But it’s still very unfortunate that Roberto wont be available for us in the last three games of the season,” manager Markus Babbel said. “I hope that he recovers quickly from the shock and that he will be up and running again soon.”
Firmino, 20, has been in solid form for Hoffenheim this year racking up 7 goals and 1 assist in 30 appearances this season. Dutch winger Ryan Babel will likely replace him in the starting eleven. Babel has come off the bench for the last two Bundesliga matches, but he could see the field as a starter this weekend.
