Victor Moses Refuses New Wigan Contract, Looks Set To Leave

Wigan Athletic star Victor Moses looks set to exit the club after his agent confirmed that he will not be signing a new deal with the Lancashire outfit.

Wigan Athletic star Victor Moses has refused a new contract at the club, and looks to be heading out of the DW Stadium with just a year left on his current contract. The Nigerian international has caught the attention of numerous teams after playing a starring role in Wigan's recent turnaround in fortune, and his agent, Tony Finnegan, has been informed that his client wants out of the club;

This is how it works here (in England). Victor Moses has just a year left on his contract with Wigan Athletic and we were about to start talks on the extension when he said he does not want to sign a new deal. Virtually every club in the (English) Premier League want to sign him.

Whilst every club in the league wanting to sign the talented youngster sounds like a wildly optimistic piece of agent speak, it's likely that there will be a lengthy queue of suitors for Moses, as teams such as Sunderland, Liverpool, Aston Villa Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with his services.

Moses initially represented England at every level right through to the Under-21 squad, but later opted to play nationally for Nigeria, the country of his birth. Moses still counts, however, as a homegrown player, having moved to England at the age of 11. The Latics paid Crystal Palace £2.5m for his services in 2010, and will be looking for a significant return on that investment should he force a transfer through having hit 4 goals, with 1 assist in 30 games this season.
