According to Borussia Dortmund’s Sporting Director Michael Zorc, star midfielder Shinji Kagawa, 23, “is not prepared to accept our extended contract offer”. Zorc continued, “Shinji is not bluffing. He has a career path in his head and the fabled Premier League in his head.”
Shinji Kagawa Rejects Borussia Dortmund Contract Extension
BVB star Shinji Kagawa has declined to extend his contract.

The Japanese international’s contract expires at the end of the 2012-2013 season, and the German champions have been working with Kagawa and his agent on a contract extension. Rumors have been linking Kagawa with a move away from BVB since his stellar first half of last season.
With Mario Götze missing half of the season with injury, Dortmund needed Kagawa to increase his productivity on the pitch. Since the beginning of January, Kagawa has racked up nine goals and three assists to lead the club in that time.
Zorc made it clear that there was “no economic reason” to sell Kagawa this summer, but they would have to consider any significant bid that is made. Bild is reporting that Manchester United have offered Kagawa a three-year contract for €6 million a season. The transfer fee would be around €15 million.
