Manchester City look to keep hold of the ball but it's not really working very well - a combination of overly ambitious and overly terrible passes is gifting possession back to the visitors whenever City push forward. When David Silva tried to get the ball back he was penalised for a foul on Michael Carrick. Things are getting a little bit chippy now, and Carlos Tevez doesn't help out in that regard, chopping down Phil Jones with a painful, albeit legal challenge. Jones repays him with a body check that would probably require an active understanding of plate tectonics to understand.

A little while later, Gareth Barry and Samir Nasri do well to combine down the City right and the latter picks out Sergio Aguero in the City box, but again the striker misfires and can't convert. Pablo Zabaleta follows that up by taking the ball off Aguero's toes as he sets up to shoot, but he doesn't do any better with a weak, miscued effort straight at David de Gea.
