It's been a difficult season for former Barcelona B coach Luis Enrique at AS Roma, and he's finally decided to pull the plug on the experiment. During a meeting on Thursday, he apparently announced to his players that he's walking away just ten months into his tenure:

I did not want to go on vacation and come back here where I could not give 100% of myself. For me to go away is a great defeat, I could not convey what I wanted. I was not able to convey what I wanted to put the ideas in the field I wanted.

You can understand his frustration - Roma have been nowhere near as good as they should be, considering the players Enrique had as his disposal, and the team has been incredibly inconsistent this year. His last game at the helm of the club will be Roma's away trip to Cessena, and the club will then be looking for a manager to lead them for the 2012/13 season. The revamp of the team is not yet complete, so look for another young, dynamic manager to be brought in to finish the job. Andre Villas-Boas, anyone?
