Champions League Final Odds: Bayern Munich Favored Big Over Chelsea

Chelsea is the big underdog to Bayern Munich in the finals of the Champions League, but the dog role didn't faze them in the semi-finals.

The London side upset Spanish giants and defending Champions League champs Barcelona -- in Spain and with 10 men, no less.

Bayern Munich also scored an upset in the Champions League semis, beating Real Madrid. But while they are at home here in the final, they are coming off an embarrassing 5-2 loss in their last match.

Champions League final odds have Bayern at 1.80 with Chelsea at 4.33 and a draw at 3.75, according to Odds Shark. And Chelsea can turn a significant championship double with a win, as they defeated Liverpool two weeks ago in England's FA Cup.

Bayern and Chelsea have seven players combined that will not play in the final because of suspensions. Both teams will miss key players.

David Alaba is a solid playmaker for Bayern and he will be missed, but Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery and Mario Gomez still give Bayern a great attack. That is a major concern for the Blues since captain and team leader John Terry is suspended and defenders David Luiz and Gary Cahill and G Petr Cech are all coming back from injuries.

Cech has not played in the last couple of matches for Chelsea, but if he played like he did against Barcelona in the Champions League semifinals, Bayern will be in for a long night.

One big concern for Bayern is its struggles defending the counter attack. This was really spotlighted in the 5-2 loss to Borussia Dortmund in the DFB Pokal Final. Bayern will attack from the opening whistle and the Blues will have to pounce on counter attack opportunities.

The Chelsea defense is a concern, but it has a good midfield and it will have its hands full facing Bayern, as it is a squad that usually wins the time of possession battle. They really have to key on the attacking MF Bayern duo of Toni Kroos and Bastian Schweinsteiger.

On offense, Chelsea has many attacking options and Daniel Sturridge and Frank Lampard each led the Blues this season with 11 goals. Fernando Torres finally broke out of his long slump getting a hat trick at the end of the EPL season and he scored a goal in the CL semifinals at Barcelona.

One key for them is the form of Didier Drogba, who had a sub-par season with only eight goals in EPL play.
