Everybody likes a good Wednesday MLS match. They’re not on national TV, there aren’t that many people there and a lot of people like to pretend they don’t exist. It’s like being back in MLS circa 1999 and we all know how cool vintage is.

New England Revolution vs. Colorado Rapids

Wednesday, 8:00 p.m. ET, MLS Live

Back in 1999 these two teams were relevant. That was cool for them.

Pick: 1-1, Colorado wins in a shootout.

Seattle Sounders vs. LA Galaxy

Wednesday, 10:00 p.m. ET, MLS Live

With their rave green and other unappealing colors that nobody would ever wear ever, the Sounders fit into vintage MLS perfectly. If only they were called the Mighty Sound.

In 2012, we’re trying to figure out what to make of both the Sounders and Galaxy. This match won’t be definitive and it may not be particularly insightful, but at the very least we can pretend it is definitive and very insightful.

Pick: Seattle, 2-1.

San Jose Earthquakes vs. D.C. United

Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. ET, MLS Live

Both of these teams are good! It is totally vintage MLS.

Pick: San Jose, 3-1.
