FA Cup Final Prediction: Chelsea Favored Vs. Liverpool In Final

Chelsea faces Liverpool in Saturday's FA Cup final and, while the Reds have beaten Manchester City and Manchester United so far in the FA Cup, they will have a tall task trying to beat the red-hot Blues.

Chelsea has won three of the past five FA Cups, and one big concern for Liverpool has to be the resurgence of Chelsea striker Fernando Torres.

After not doing much since the big money deal that brought him from Liverpool last season, he scored in the last Champions League match facing Barcelona and had a hat trick in his last Premier League match.

Both teams may rest some key players in EPL matches this week with Liverpool hosting Fulham on May 1and Chelsea hosting Newcastle United on May 2.

Chelsea is hoping the third time is the charm for it this season, as it has been at home twice this season facing Liverpool, once in EPL play and in the Carlin Cup, and the Reds won both matches.

Defense is obviously key in any match, but in the FA Cup final each team’s defense will be tested, as the Blues have scored eight goals in their last two matches and the Reds have scored five goals in their last three matches.

Liverpool will have to rely on their defense more in this FA Cup final, as in EPL play this season they have scored 43 goals while Chelsea has scored 62.

Luis Suárez (11 goals), Craig Bellamy (six goals), and Steven Gerrard (five goals) are the big guns for the Reds and if the Blues and their defense can keep these guys in check they should win the FA Cup final.

Speaking of Chelsea’s defense, it has only conceded four goals in its last five matches and two of those goals came in an away match facing Barcelona.

Torres has been on fire as of late, and Frank Lampard and Daniel Sturridge each have 11 goals in the Premier League this season. The Reds have to play well in the midfield in this match to thwart the scoring chances of the Blues and if that does not happen they are in for a long match.

Chelsea G Petr Cech has been playing great in the last few weeks, and after a clean sheet facing Barcelona, he has a ton of confidence. If he and the Blues’ defense plays well, they will be tough to beat.

The Blues like to push forward on offense and because of that, Liverpool must take advantage of any counter attack chances they get.

Prediction: The Reds will play a good match on defense, but Chelsea simply has too much offense and it will show it in this FA Cup final. Look for the Blues to beat the Reds by a score of 2-1 or 3-1 in an exciting match.
