Hoffenheim have brought in Takashi Usami on loan with an option to buy from Gamba Osaka for the entire 2012-2013 season. Usami spent last season on loan to Bayern Munich.

“Takashi Usami will give us further options up front. He’s ambitious, very agile and quick, technically versed and a good finisher. We’re looking forward to working with him,” manager Markus Babbel said.

Playing time was difficult to come by for Usami last season at Bayern Munich behind entrenched players like Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery. He should get a decent run out in the Hoffenheim side which will be looking to push for a European place next season.

Usami obviously is high on the move: “I want to establish myself in the Bundesliga and the only way to do that is by playing regularly. I hope to earn a place in the 1899 team by performing well in training and helping the club to as much success as possible.”
