In the 60th minute of their Canadian Championship first leg against Montreal Impact, Toronto FC tried to sub in Luis Silva for Eric Avila, a straight forward 11 for eight swap. The assistant referee first held up seven for 12, then 12 for 12, then 12 for eight before finally giving up and putting the board away, looking very flustered as Aron Winter gave him some choice words. That was seriously the most entertaining moment of the game.
Montreal Impact Vs. Toronto FC, Amway Canadian Championship: TFC Earn Boring, But Useful 0-0 Draw
Toronto picked up a 0-0 draw in the first leg of the Canadian Championship at Montreal, which wasn’t pretty, but it was exactly what they wanted.

TFC very clearly came to Montreal to defend and defend some more, and they did it about as competently as they've attacked this season. Sloppiness, confusion and mistakes aplenty gave the Impact plenty of chances, but a header off the line and some good saves from Milos Kocic against Bernardo Corradi and Lamar Neagle kept the match at 0-0 after 45 minutes. Somehow Montreal weren't good enough to break down the world's worst parked bus as the second half quietly fizzled out. A tie is a step up for TFC, though, and clearly what they were playing for. It is still all up for grabs in the second leg next week.
