Nürnberg 0 - 2 Bayer Leverkusen
Bundesliga, Week 34: Halftime Update From Across Germany
It doesn't appear that Nürnberg will find a way to sneak into the Europa League next season. Stefan Kießling has a first half brace. Oh yeah, Michael Ballack was awarded the start in his final Bundesliga match.
Mainz 0 - 1 Borussia Mönchengladbach
Marco Reus grabbed a goal to give Gladbach the lead over Mainz. With his summer transfer to Dortmund already booked, we may have just seen Reus’ last goal in a Gladbach shirt.
Köln 0 - 1 Bayern Munich
Bayern took a 1-0 lead over Köln thanks to a nice finish from Thomas Müller. Köln began the day on 30 points, 2 ahead of Hertha Berlin. They know they’d be relying on a good performance from Hoffenheim to make sure they’d be in the Promotion/Relegation playoff instead of the straight relegation position.
Werder Bremen 1 - 1 Schalke
Julian Draxler scored a nice goal in the first half, but Claudio Pizarro equalized from the spot just before halftime.
Augsburg 1 - 0 Hamburg
Augsburg have picked up a goal at home to go 1-0 up on Hamburg. Koo Ja-Cheol, on loan with Augsburg from Wolfsburg since January, grabbed the goal that pushes Augsburg to 38 points in the table. They’re already safe, but a victory today places them in 14th place ahead of Hamburg.
Borussia Dortmund 4 - 0 Freiburg
BVB are currently on their way to setting a new Bundesliga record for most points accumulated during a season with 81 points. Both Jakub Blaszczykowski and Robert Lewandowski have a brace in the first half to give BVB a 4-0 lead over Freiburg. This match is entertaining for the neutral. We all know the talent that is in the Dortmund side, but Freiburg have come to play today with nothing on the line. They’re pushing numbers into the attack and forcing Dortmund to at least play some defense today.
Hannover 1 - 1 Kaiserslautern
FCK jumped to an early 1-0 lead thanks to Pierre De Wit, but Hannover eventually found their way back into the match thanks to an own goal from Alexander Bugera. With Wolfsburg currently winning, Hannover must win to find their way back to Europe next season.
Hertha Berlin 1 - 0 Hoffenheim
Änis Ben-Hatira scored a massive goal to push Hertha ahead of Köln on points. When Thomas Müller scored against to give Bayern the lead against Köln, the Olympiastadion in Berlin erupted into cheers. Hertha’s second half was made much easier after a horrible decision by the referee to send Ryan Babel off after a clear dive.
Stuttgart 0 - 1 Wolfsburg
Patrick Helmes scored a massive goal to give Wolfsburg the lead in Stuttgart. The goal pushes them ahead of Hannover in the table and qualifies them for the Europa League in the last spot available.
