The Seattle Sounders may be riding a seven-match winless streak in MLS play, but they still have their U.S. Open Cup swagger. Despite having played a game about 48 hours earlier, they managed to beat the San Jose Earthquakes 1-0 at San Francisco's Kezar Stadium.

It wasn't necessarily the prettiest game, as the Sounders mostly were content to bunker after Cordell Cato scored in the 18th minute. Andrew Weber, who was cut by the Earthquakes following last season, made four saves to register the shutout.
With the win the Sounders advance to their sixth straight Open Cup semifinal, dating back to their days in the USL. They will face Chivas USA on July 10 at Starfire Sports Complex.
Philadelphia Union 5, Harrisburg City Islanders 2: Jack McInerney scored his third goal in his past two appearances as the Union got goals from five different players. The Islanders, who are affiliated with the Union, managed to pull within 3-2 after falling behind 3-0, but couldn't complete the comeback.
Sporting Kansas City 3, Dayton Dutch Lions 0: CJ Sapong scored twice and Graham Zusi scored another for KC. They'll visit the Union in the other semifinal.
Chivas USA 2, Charlotte Eagles 1: Jose Correa scored twice, with the winner coming in stoppage time, to send the Goats to their second semifinal in three years. Correa's second goal came just a couple minutes after the Eagles tied it up in the 89th minute on a Mauricio Salles goal.
