The Switzerland Olympic team has expelled soccer player Michel Morganella because of an allegedly racist tweet, according to the Associated Press. Morganella made the comment following his country's 2-1 loss to South Korea on Sunday.

Although his Twitter has now been deleted, there are several screen grabs of the Tweet in circulation, which apparently made derogatory comments towards Koreans.

Swiss officials called the message offensive and threatening, prompting them to strip Morganella of his credentials. He will not be available for Switzerland's final group stage game against Mexico on Wednesday. Switzerland has gone 0-1-1 in their first two games and need a victory in their final game to have any chance to advance. Mexico and South Korea can both advance with as little as a tie in their final games.

Morganella is the second Olympic athlete to be kicked out of the Olympics for a similar incident. Greek triple-jumper Voula Papachristou was sent home after mocking African immigrants.
