Sporting Kansas City will host the 2012 U.S. Open Cup final if they beat the Philadelphia Union on Wednesday. The U.S. Soccer Federation announced the results of the blind bids on Friday, with Chivas USA being the only one of the four remaining teams that has no chance to host. Unlike the earlier rounds, the semifinals and finals were decided by blind bids instead of a draw.

If the Union beat Sporting Kansas City, they'll have to wait until the end of the Seattle Sounders-Chivas USA match to find out where they'd be playing in their first Cup finals appearance. The Sounders would host their third straight Open Cup final on Aug. 8 if both they and the Union win. The Union would host Chivas USA on either Aug. 7 or 8 if those two teams were to play.
The Sounders are attempting to become the first team in the Open Cup history to win four straight titles. Sporting KC would be attempting to win their second in franchise history, but their first trophy of any kind since 2004 when they won the Supporters’ Shield and the Open Cup. Neither the Union nor Chivas USA have ever won a trophy or even appeared in a Cup final.
