Petr Jiracek Moves To Hamburg
Czech Republic international Petr Jiracek has transferred to Hamburg from Wolfsburg. The contract is for four years, and the transfer fee is believed to be in the amount of €4 million.

Jiracek, 26, just signed for Wolfsburg in January on a four and a half year deal from Viktoria Plzen. He made 13 appearances in the second half of the season for Wolfsburg, but Felix Magath deemed him surplus to requirements. In his three and a half years at Plzen, Jiracek made 100 appearances for the club.
“He’s a running machine, possesses no fear and provides a threat in front of goal,” said head coach Thorsten Fink. “He’s a quiet instigator with heart and mental strength. It’s exactly those types of players that we want.”
The Czech international had a good summer, scoring two goals at the European Championship. Jiracek should add some much-needed attack to a Hamburg squad that were quite inept in their opening match against Nürnberg.
