It appears at least one member of the Portland Timbers organziation is happy about the news that Kris Boyd's contract has apparently been bought out by the team today. His name is Sam Werner and he's a midfielder who took to Twitter after the Boyd rumors came out to offer up this opinion:
A Portland Timbers Academy player is happy Kris Boyd got cut
Sam Werner of the Portland Timbers Academy is glad Kris Boyd was reportedly cut by the team today. He said so on Twitter.

Chris Boyd is gone thank god

Another academy player, Timur Zhividze, apparently agreed.
@_samwerner_ Open spot for me 😉 lol

A couple notes. First Sam, if you’re going to properly trash talk someone, it’s always preferable to spell said person’s name correctly. Not too big of a deal but details are always important.
Second, this might be a tweet you should consider deleting as I expect it will not endear you to the front office of the Timbers, even if they happen to agree with your opinion. It’s ok though, you’re a young player being honest and there’s nothing wrong with that. I like Sam’s spirit and we here at SB Nation Soccer are rooting for him to succeed and become a star in MLS.
Seriously.
Kris Boyd sucked, he was a gigantic waste of money and he cost Portland the #13th pick in today’s SuperDraft. It’s a good thing he’s gone in the long run but Merritt Paulson’s check book took a slight hit to make it happen.
Anyhow, well done Sam. Carry on.
