Liverpool vs. Norwich City: Final score 5-0, Canaries blown out by Liverpool

Liverpool hammered Norwich City 5-0 as the Canaries couldn't defend to save their lives and Liverpool were on the game with a masterful performance.

Liverpool took the lead in the 26th minute thanks a bit of bad luck combined with magnificent skill. First the bad luck as Alexander Tettey neatly tackled the ball off Suarez but it bounced right to Jordan Henderson who didn't hesitate for a second and beat Mark Bunn with a beautifully placed curling shot in to the top corner of the net.

Liverpool added a second in the 36th minute. Daniel Sturridge dummied a long ball from Lucas, pulling Norwich defender Michael Turner way out of position, creating a huge amount of empty space behind him. As the ball passed through Sturridge's legs, Turner may a desperate slide but missed, allowing the ball to roll right in to the path of Luis Suarez who raced in to the box and calmly beat a desperately diving Bunn with a shot just inside the far post.

Since everyone knows 2-0 is the most dangerous lead in soccer, Liverpool added a third in the 58th minute. Jordan Henderson found Stewart Downing on the right side of the box where Downing collected the pass and crossed the ball in to the box. Bunn failed to collect the cross and Sturridge was lurking right behind him to easily put the ball in the back of the net.

Steven Gerrard got in on the fun in the 66th minute. Glen Johnson made a nice run in from the left side, drawing the attention of the Norwich defense before laying the ball off to Gerrard. The midfielder sent his shot back against the flow of the play, beating Bunn who tried to dive back to stop the shot, putting Liverpool up 4-0.

More poor defending from Norwich led to another goal in the 75th minute. Raheem Sterling sent a ball in from the left side that was touched by Bunn and then diverted in to the net by Ryan Bennett for a further demoralizing own goal.
