Liverpool confirm Philippe Coutinho signing
Liverpool have completed the signing of Philippe Coutinho from Inter Milan on a long-term deal, the club have announced.
The deal is believed to have cost the club around £8.5m, with the contract only being conirmed as "a long-term deal." There were suggestions that Southampton were looking to hijack the bid, but Liverpool have now definitely got their man. The midfielder is the second signing of the window for the Reds, who completed a deal for Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea earlier in the month.
Liverpool announced the Coutinho signing on their official website, and the player said he was happy to complete the deal: “I’m feeling very happy, it’s a very important step in my career and I’m expecting to come here and play good football to give my contribution on the pitch.”
"Liverpool is a great club with great players. We've always heard about Liverpool's history in Brazil. They are the club that have been interested in me and that have showed this interest so I know they believe in me and my football."
