Aston Villa’s Stephen Warnock joins Leeds United
Stephen Warnock has joined Leeds United on an 18-month deal after having his contract terminated by mutual consent.
The defender reportedly turned down the chance to join West Ham United, and has instead moved to the Championship to join his namesake Neil Warnock.
Warnock has made 104 appearances for the Villans after he was bought by Martin O'Neill from Blackburn Rovers in 2009, but has found himself out of favour recently. The 31-year-old left-back has not played for Villa this season under Paul Lambert, and spent 3 months on loan at Bolton Wanderers.
After making a permanent move to Leeds United, he could feature in their next game - which happens to be against fierce rivals Cardiff City.
