Sergio Aguero announces on Twitter he has a torn hamstring

The Manchester City strikers takes to Twitter to confirm that he’s torn his hamstring muscle. No word yet on how long Aguero will be out.

Manchester City striker Sergio Agüero took to his Twitter account today and announced he has a torn hamstring.

There’s no official announcement about the injury from the club at the moment or any estimate on the amount of time Agüero will miss, but depending on the severity of the tear, it could be a few weeks at the minimum.

Agüero also tweeted he’s heading to Italy to receive treament from a specialist.

Obviously we'll need some more information from City but it doesn't sound like Roberto Mancini is getting 2013 off the best start. City had hoped their joint top-scorer would be available for their upcoming match agianst Arsenal but it's starting to look like that won't happen.

It's a definite blow but when you have the likes of Edin Džeko and Carlos Tevez on the roster, I doubt you'll get much sympathy.
