Belgium qualify for World Cup 2014

Belgium’s win against Croatia has seen them confirm their place at next summer’s World Cup -- their first major tournament in over a decade.

Belgium have passed their Group A test with flying colours, booking their place at the 2014 Brazil World Cup. Marc Wilmots' team cruised through their group, finishing top without losing a single game. It wasn't a particularly difficult draw, though Serbia's failure to challenge at all meant it came down to a two-way scrap between Belgium and Croatia -- with the former coming out on top. They now haven't lost a competitive match in exactly two years.

Amazingly -- when considering the pool of talent they currently have available -- this is the first time Belgium have qualified for a major tournament in over a decade. They haven't appeared in one since the 2002 World Cup, when they were sent home in the round of 16. Now, boasting the likes of Premier League stars Eden Hazard, Marouane Fellaini, Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke in their ranks, they will be the dark horses next summer.
