Panama's hopes of claiming fourth place in the CONCACAF table of are on life support in the wake of their last minute defeat to Mexico on Friday. The 2-1 loss at the Estadio Azteca has left Panama three points behind Mexico going into the final match day and needing to not only defeat the United States but have El Tri lose to Costa Rica.

While the USA’s work is done, Panama are forced to recover quickly from a heartbreaking loss to Mexico as they try to keep their World Cup dreams alive.


In other words, things are not looking great for Panama thank to no longer controlling their own fate.
The US clinched the top spot in the table with their win over Jamaica in Friday but were hardly impressive. Four players -- Landon Donovan, Matt Besler, Jermaine Jones and Tim Howard -- have all been released back to their clubs but Jürgen Klinsmann will still take a solid roster into their final qualifier. Goalkeeper Sean Johnson was added to the roster and the head coach has said that defender Clarence Goodson will get a start on Tuesday.
Klinsmann will likely be looking for his team to finish their campaign on a positive note but you’ll be hard pressed to find a USA fan who wouldn’t mind a loss to Panama, especially if Costa Rica can upset Mexico.
