Arsenal vs. Borussia Dortmund: Preview and TV schedule

The Gunners can take firm control of Group F at the halfway point of the group stage with a win at home over last year’s runner-up Borussia Dortmund.

Tuesday's marquee match in the Champions League group stages pits a revitalized Arsenal side against last season's runner-up Borussia Dortmund at the Emirates Stadium in London.

Arsenal currently sit atop Group F with perfect record thanks to victories over Napoli and Marseille and are flying high as the current leaders in the EPL as well. The arrival of Mesut Özil at the summer transfer deadline has given the Gunners a new layer in their play and have many believing they could make a deep run in this tournament. Santi Cazorla and Bacary Sagna have both recovered from injury and could feature.

For Dortmund they’ll need to replicate their road success from last season’s group stages if they want to keep working towards returning to another final. Head coach Jürgen Klopp will be in the stands after having his suspension increased for his sending off in Dortmund’s loss against Napoli. Not having the eccentric manager on the touchline will be a blow for BVB. Marco Reus and Marcel Schmelzer will should be available after returning from injury over the weekend.

Arsenal injuries and suspensions

Out: Theo Walcott (abdomen), Abou Diaby (knee), Lukas Podolski (hamstring), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee).

Borussia Dortmund injuries and suspensions

Out: Lukasz Piszczek (hip), Ilkay Gundogan (spine), Sebastian Kehl (ankle). In Doubt: Marcel Schmelzer (thigh).

The Arsenal quartet of Walcott, Diaby, Podolski and Oxlade-Chamberlain remain sidelined for the Gunners. Dortmund will be missing fullback Lukasz Piszczek and midfielders Ilkay Gundogan and Sebastian Kehl, but Marcel Schmelzer could play after making the bench over the weekend.
