Manchester United vs. Real Sociedad: Preview and TV schedule

Manchester United are expected to record victory over Real Sociedad on Wednesday, with the Basques yet to pick up a Champions League point this season.

Real Sociedad haven't done a great job of living up to their tag as one of the Champions League's most capable underdogs, having lost both of their matches so far. They're sitting rock bottom of the Group A after defeats to Bayer Leverkusen and Shakhtar Donetsk, and are already effectively out of the running to progress. To make matters worse, they travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Wednesday.

With their recent patchy form now is probably as good a time to face United as any, though David Moyes' side are still strong favourites for victory. They're looking to bounce back from a draw to Shakhtar in their last Champions League game, with the Red Devils currently joint-top of the group with the Ukrainian outfit.

For this match United will be without Darren Fletcher, while centre-back pairing of Nemanja Vidić and Rio Ferdinand are both doubtful with minor knocks. Tom Cleverley could also be sidelined, while Danny Welbeck's participation has also been called into question after he missed training for an unspecified reason. Real Sociedad will be without their long-term injured midfielder Esteban Granero, though otherwise have a full-strength team available.

Manchester United injuries and suspensions

Out: Darren Fletcher (illness). In doubt: Nemanja Vidić, Rio Ferdinand (knocks), Tom Cleverley (calf), Danny Welbeck.
