In a statement Inter Milan has confirmed that International Sports Capital is its new majority shareholder, with owner, Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir, having been elected new nerazzurri president. International Sports Capital now owns 70% of the club, with Thohir’s presidency ending the 18-year rule of Massimo Moratti.
Erick Thohir elected new Inter Milan president
The owner of Inter Milan’s new majority shareholder, Erick Thohir, has been elected new nerazzurri president.

Moratti -- whose father, Angelo, first took over the club back in 1955 -- will remain involved in the running of the nerazzurri, albeit in the reduced capacity of honorary chairman. He commented:
“I am truly pleased I have found the new owners of this glorious club.I am convinced they are more than equipped to keep on adding new successes to our beloved colours. Personally I feel honoured I have been the president of Inter for so many years.”
New president, Erick Thohir, had this to say:
“This is a truly special day in my life. Inter is a magnificent story of passion, a tradition of winning and commitment to excellence. As Giacinto Facchetti said, ‘The secret of every triumph lies in your own belief’. Our belief lies in our passion and our passion will pave the way for Inter’s future success. Forza Inter.”
Inter fans probably won’t be expecting the new presidency to change much on-field -- and given that they’re faring pretty well this season, why should they? Perhaps with a little more investment from the new bosses, they could seriously challenge for the scudetto in the near future.
