La Liga, Week 14: No changes at the top as Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid all win

There was no movement at the top of the league table as the top four teams in Spain all earned convincing wins this week.

The top four in the table remained unchanged after week 14 with the only adjustments coming in the goal differential category. All four teams earned clean sheets and scored at least three goals with Atlético Madrid's 7-0 trouncing of Getafe being the biggest win of the weekend for any club. The win kept Atléti within three points of Barcelona and closed the goal differential gap to five. It's practically a neck and neck race compared to season's past.

Real Madrid were impressive too in their 5-0 in over Almeria but a hamstring injury to Cristiano Ronaldo certainly ruined the day a bit. Villarreal meanwhile kept their lead in fourth place thanks to a solid win over Levante.

Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo put on the most exciting match of the week with La Real coming out with the win in a seven goal thriller. After trailing at halftime and falling 3-1 down with 34 minutes to play, La Real stormed back thanks to a Carlos Vela hat trick.

Elche continued to prove their mid-table position is not a fluke thanks to their win over Valencia. Cristian Herrera's match winner in the 84th minute helped Elche pull all three points back after Juan Bernat had equalized for Los Che less than ten minute before.

Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis, both of whom suffered thorough multi-goal losses, remain at the bottom of the league and are definitely the early favorites to find themselves in the second division come the 2014 season. There's stll plenty of time though and certainly no need to panic just yet.

Here’s all the results from this week’s action in Spain:

Real Valladolid 0-1 Osasuna
Barcelona 4-0 Granada | Full match report
