CSKA Moscow vs. Bayern Munich: Preview and TV schedule

Bayern Munich will look to continue their strong run of form and clinch the top spot in Group D with a win over CSKA Moscow.

Bayern Munich have already secured a place in the Champions League Round of 16, but a win over third-place CSKA Moscow would clinch the top spot for Pep Guardiola's side.

Despite having to travel to Moscow and deal with all the usual weather and pitch condition issues of Moscow in late November, there’s little reason to believe that Bayern won’t be able to get the three points they need. CSKA Moscow have only managed one win so far in the group stages, and they are tied with fellow group bottom dweller Viktoria Plzen for the most goals allowed in the tournament with 12.

Bayern will have to deal with a few injury issues though including the loss of Mario Mandžukić to a calf injury, but there depth should be sufficient to see them through with Thomas Müller likely to start up front.

CSKA Moscow injuries and suspensions

Out: Alan Dzagoev (hamstring), Aleksandrs Cauna (toe). In Doubt: Seydou Doumbia (knock).

Bayern Munich injuries and suspensions

Out: Franck Ribéry (fractured rib), Bastian Schweinsteiger (ankle), Xherdan Shaqiri (hamstring) Claudio Pizarro (thigh), Mario Mandžukić (calf).

Mario Mandžukić is the latest Bayern injury casualty as the striker continues to struggle with a calf injury. CSKA Moscow hope to have striker Seydou Doumbia available but head coach Leonid Slutski was noncommittal about his status in his press conference.

Projected lineups

CSKA Moscow: Igor Akinfeev, Mário Fernandes, Vasil Berezutski, Sergei Ignashevich, Georgi Schennikov, Pontus Wernbloom, Zoran Tošić, Keisuke Honda, Georgi Milanov, Seydou Doumbia.
