UEFA Europa League 2013: The second half of the group stages begins

The Europa League resumes with an important round of games on Thursday, as the second half of the group stages begins.

Gabriele Maltinti

We’re heading into the latter half of the Europa League group stages, and -- if we don’t already -- we should have a clear idea of who’s heading into the knockout phase by the time Thursday’s out. With only a couple of games left to play after this, teams will be looking to kickstart a final push up their respective groups. If you squint really hard, it even looks a bit like the Champions League.

Swansea and Valencia should consolidate their first and second places in Group A, while Wigan Athletic -- currently hanging onto second place in Group D by a couple of points -- have a tough test against unbeaten table-toppers Rubin Kazan. Elsewhere, Fiorentina, Eintracht Frankfurt, Tottenham Hotspur and Ludogorets Razgrad will be looking to defend their 100% win records, and Lazio can move up into first place in Group J if results go their way. Fun!
