Mother nature unleashed hail on a Champions League match. Mother nature won.
Mother Nature.
The match started in the freezing cold, which was later accompanied by hail, forcing the referee to call a halt to the proceedings. He suspended abandoned the match.
There are a handful of reasons he may have done so:
1. It was cold.
2. The lines on the pitch were no longer visible.
3. Hail hurts.
4. It was really freaking cold.
