Hertha Berlin beat Werder Bremen on Friday evening to move ahead of Schalke in the Bundesliga, at least for another day. The 3-2 win moved Hertha one point ahead of Schalke for at least a day. Die Königsblauen will play Freiburg on Sunday.
Hertha Berlin 3-2 Werder Bremen, Ramos and Ronny shine for Hertha
Hertha Berlin picked up a big win over Werder Bremen on Friday to move (temporarily) into sixth place in the Bundesliga table.

Nils Petersen gave Werder the early lead after finishing a pass from Aaron Hunt. Werder were coming off of last week's humiliating 7-0 defeat to Bayern Munich, so the quick goal was just what they needed to really good going. Unfortunately, the lead barely lasted two minutes. Theodore Selassie fouled Per Skjelbred in the area, and Adrian Ramos converted the penalty for the equalizer.
Ten minutes later, Ramos was at it again giving Hertha the 2-1 lead. He and Skjelbred combined to get through the Werder defense, and Ramos poked it past Thomas Kraft. What? Another goal! Hunt and Petersen swapped roles on this goal, and the midfielder scored in the 36th minute to make it a 2-2 game.
Halftime finally approached with both sides threatening to score another before the break, but no one could grab one before the whistle.
It was Ronny that scored the winning goal for Hertha. Petar Pekarik’s header was deflected by Raphael Wolf, and Ronny was on hand to place it into the wide open net for the 3-2 lead. Werder spent the remainder of the match coming ever-so-close to scoring, but they were unable to find the equalizer.
