Things didn't look good after their miserable 3-0 defeat to Southampton yesterday, and Cardiff have now finally confirmed the inevitable -- the sacking of manager Malky Mackay. In a short statement on their website, the Bluebirds announced:
Malky Mackay sacked by Cardiff City
Cardiff City have today announced the sacking of manager Malky Mackay.

"The Board of Directors at Cardiff City Football Club have today relieved Malky Mackay of his duties.
"A new first team manager will be appointed and announced in due course."
Tensions between Mackay and manager Vincent Tan have been strained for a while, with the owner reportedly offering the Scot a ‘resign or be sacked’ ultimatum last week. Despite Mackay being given a stay of execution before yesterday’s match, the 3-0 defeat appears to have offered an excuse for Tan to finally give him the boot.
Mackay had been at Cardiff since 2011, winning promotion to the Premier League last season. He leaves the team in 16th place, a point and a couple of places above the relegation zone.
