Arturo Vidal extends Juventus contract

Arturo Vidal has extended his contract at Juventus until 2017.

Juventus' star midfielder Arturo Vidal has had an extra year added to his bianconeri contract, meaning he'll stay in Turin until 2017. Given that he's arguably the best player in the current Serie A leaders' squad, it's little surprise Juve have eagerly jumped to tie him down for an extra year. A statement on the club's website noted:

“Today’s agreement marks the latest chapter in El Guerrero’s Juventus career, a story the determined performer will strive to enrich by achieving the club’s next principle target come May - a historic third consecutive Scudetto title.”

The Chilean has been a key part of Antonio Conte’s squad since joining Juventus from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011, and has become one of the most highly regarded midfielders in the world. In total he’s played a century of games for the Old Lady, scoring a total of 32 goals and winning two consecutive scudetti in that time.
