Club Leon vs. Santos Laguna: Preview and TV schedule

Leon and Santos are both capable of scoring in bunches, if their quarterfinal ties are any indication.

Two potent attacks match up on Thursday in Leon, with Santos Laguna and Club Leon likely to put on a bit of a show. If their quarterfinal performances were any indication both have the ability to create goals out of absolutely nothing and neither will be sitting back.

Leon won away to Santos in the game between the two teams this season, but Santos were without star central defender Felipe Baloy in that game. Still, Santos did have their two top attackers -- Oribe Peralta and Darwin Quintero -- and couldn’t score at home. Leon also pulled off the victory without star midfielder Luis Montes available for the game.

Based on their meeting in late August and the playoff ties that the two teams played in the last round, you could see the teams line up in matching 4-4-2 formations that will be very attacking in nature. However, Santos has, on a few occasions this season, started Mauro Cejas in the hole and moved Darwin Quintero out wide. Leon has also shifted into a 4-2-3-1 on quite a few occasions, dropping striker Matias Britos to the bench.

Match date/time: Thursday, 10 p.m. ET

Venue: Estadio Leon, Leon, Mexico

TV: Telemundo
