Inter Milan vs. Parma: Preview and TV schedule

The Walter Mazzarri revolution at Inter continues apace, despite two draws in their last two matches the Nerazzurri still sit fourth, just four points off Napoli's lucrative third Champions League spot but equal on points with Fiorentina, who have taken advantage of Inter's dropping of points recently. Mazzarri's priority clearly remains the league - in midweek he made ten changes as his reserves progressed in the Coppa Italia over Serie B's Trapani - and therefore we can expect a return to a full strength squad for this encounter. The problem for Inter may be that Parma fit into the description of just the kind of side they have slightly struggled against this season, with draws coming against the likes of Cagliari, Torino, Atalanta, Bologna and Sampdoria, and against all but Bologna, it has been Inter who have taken the lead then given it away. The problem could be overconfidence born of their startling early season form however it will give Parma hope that Inter have failed to close out so many games against mid-table sides.

Parma sit at the heart of a packed mid-table group in tenth, one of four sides on 17 points and just two from Genoa in seventh but only three ahead of Sassuolo in 15th. With recent displays in mind, Parma will be confident of breaking into the top half of the table, and soon. Since losing to Juventus at the start of November, the Crociati have gone three matches unbeaten, including an away victory over high-flying Napoli. Antonio Cassano has been in typical form, six goals and three assists in 14 appearances have established himself firmly as Parma's talisman and he will be keen to impress in front of his former home fans, as well as other members of Parma's strong ex-Inter contingent such as Walter Gargano, Jonathan Biabiany and the sadly injured Joel Obi. All of these players will be keen to prove a point to their former employers and therefore a hard-fought match from Parma can be expected.

Inter are still without the Argentine trio of Walter Samuel, Mauro Icardi and Diego Milito however Zdravko Kuzmanovic and Yuto Nagatomo may be fit to play after missing out against Sampdoria last week. Parma will be without ex-Inter man Joel Obi and there are small question marks over Cassano and Gargano however both are likely to feature.
