Queens Park Rangers vs. Norwich City: Team News & Preview

Two clubs who gave themselves a shot in the arm this transfer window do battle in the Premier League's early game this weekend... and it probably won't be very much fun, to be honest. Norwich vs. Queens Park Rangers isn't many people's idea of a good time.

Both sides are coming off very credible home draws against tough opposition. QPR and Julio Cesar shut down Manchester City's attack on Tuesday, while it took a superb goal from Gareth Bale for Tottenham Hotspur to emerge from Carrow Road with a point. That 1-1 draw against Spurs may signal that the Canaries are ready to end their recent poor run of form -- in the past seven matches they've earned just two points.

Deadline day was busy for both clubs, even if you ignore the bizarre Peter Odemwingie saga that saw the striker definitely not go anywhere near Loftus Road at all, no sir, QPR would never even think about talking to a player they didn't have permission to and I don't know why you'd accuse them of it. Chris Samba will strengthen the hosts' back line, while Norwich picked up Leeds striker Luciano Becchio, which will give Chris Hughton more attacking options even if it cost him Steve Morison in the process.

On the whole, it looks like QPR should be able to manage at least a point from this one. That’s something you wouldn’t really have imagined saying when Harry Redknapp was in charge.
