Real Betis vs. Real Valladolid: Final score 0-0, Betis waste opportunities, settle for a draw

Typically when you out shoot our opponent 23-3 and none of those three shots are even on target, you win. If your Real Betis the best you can apparently hope for is a draw, which really wasn't helpful at all to Pepe Mel's struggling side that has seemingly forgotten how to win.

Frustration was the word of the day for Betis who despite getting plenty of chances, weren't all that accurate with them. It took nearly 20 minutes for them to even challenge Valladolid goalkeeper Daniel Hernandez, making a fairly routine save on a speculative 30-yard blast from Dorian Pabon. Hernandez made an excellent save a few minutes later on a lob shot from Benat Etxebarria that forced Hernandez to rapidly back-pedal and push the ball over the bar.

Even more frustrating for Betis, they played the final quarter hour with a man advantage after Valladolid's Antonio Rukavina was sent off in the 75th minute after picking up a second yellow card for a foul on Juan Carlos Perez Lopez. Instead of helping things, Betis just became more frustrated.

Betis had two close calls late as Hernandez denied Joel Campbell, pushing his shot around the post. Minutes later, Betis looked sure to score when Jorge Molina's header looked destined for the back of net before being cleared off the line by Jesus Rueda.
