Paris Saint-Germain are going to be tested at the back today and it’s not just because Valencia are good and in excellent form either. PSG have been bit by the injury bug.
Valencia vs. Paris Saint-Germain, 2013 UEFA Champions League: Lineups
PSG is short-handed as they head to the Mestalla for a clash with Valencia.

Thiago Silva will miss the first leg of their round of 16 tie today, leaving PSG without their best defender, and Thiago Motta is also out. David Beckham will also miss the match, but that doesn’t really matter.
Once again, Carlo Ancelotti has picked out his four best attackers, but them as far forward as he can and will give them free reign. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Lucas Moura and Javier Pastore will all be in advanced positions, with Moura and Pastore just behind the other two and doing their best to keep the pressure off of PSG’s Silva-less defense.
Valencia is at full strength and has come out as expected. Andres Guardadoat left back and the 4-3-3 they will play are surprisingly attacking, but this team goes as Ever Banega goes. The Argentinean will have to be on top of his game today in the center of the pitch. If he is, Valencia might dig PSG a hole going into the second leg.
