No one bothered to inform Michael Laudrup and Co. that their match against Liverpool included two halves. They held their own in the first half, giving up just one goal on a penalty mid-way through the period, but were absolutely steamrolled from the beginning of the second half, and ended up falling, 5-0.

In the 33rd minute, Kemy Agustien took down Luis Suarez in the box, and Steven Gerrard stepped up to bury the ensuing penalty. That was one of few events in a rather average first half, and Liverpool went into the dressing room with a deserved lead. They doubled that lead just 20 seconds into the second half, and that goal opened the floodgates.
Coutinho was the man who scored Liverpool's second, finishing off a great run and pass from Luis Suarez right off the opening kickoff, and from then on, Swansea hardly looked involved in the match. The Reds scored what was probably their best goal of the season five minutes later, working an incredible passing move from the left flank into the box. Suarez was the man who carried the ball into the box, where he found Sturridge, who kept the ball moving by finding Jose Enrique, who finished into the roof of the net with his first touch.
After playing a huge part in setting up the first three goals, Suarez netted one of his own in the 56th minute, taking a pass from Stewart Downing before dribbling his way around two defenders, then placing an excellent shot past Michel Vorm from 20 yards. Sturridge capped off the scoring, netting a penalty 15 minutes later after Wayne Routledge handled in the area.
Liverpool cruised to victory without a problem, keeping the ball easily over the last 15 minutes. However, they did suffer a bit of a disappointing setback in the closing minutes, when Fabio Borini was forced out of the game with a shoulder injury that looked exceptionally painful.
