20 days after being sacked by Palermo, Gian Piero Gasperini has accepted a place back on the bench, with Maurizio Zamparini up to his usual hirin’ firin’ antics.

A statement on the club's website reads: "Palermo announces that it has sacked coach Alberto Malesani and recalled Gian Piero Gasperini. It is a regretful decision, as Alberto Malesani is a great person and coach." However, it continued, "the decision seems to be the only option at this difficult moment."
Look on the bright side Alberto -- you were given three games more than Stefano Pioli was given last season -- that’s surely something of a compliment.
This firing comes three weeks after Zamparini stated that “I will never forgive Gasperini.” How quickly things change. With the performances having failed to improve since the former Genoa coach’s exit, bringing him back is probably the best option. Sadly, it may already be too late.
