Sure Real Madrid’s loss was the big story but there was plenty of other action from La Liga on Saturday. Here’s a recap of the rest of the game from Spain’s top division.
La Liga Saturday: Getafe finally wins, Espanyol trips up Levante
Getafe gets their first win in ten games, Deportivo looks destined for relegation, Osasuna climbed out of the drop zone and Espanyol continues their second half surge. It was a busy day in Spain and so enjoy a recap of all the action.

Osasuna 1-0 Celta Vigo
Osasuna picked up three important points as they try to avoid relegation. A second half goal from Emiliano Armenteros, set-up nicely by a soft header from Lolo, was all Los Rojillos needed. Celta’s attack was severely affected by the loss of Augusto Fernandez and Michael Krohn-Dehli, both of whom were suspended for the match. Osasuna pull themselves out of the drop zone for now with the win.
Getafe 3-1 Deportivo La Coruña
Getafe recorded their first win in 10 matches with a thorough beating of last place Deportivo. The visitors actually went ahead in the 10th minute after Pizzi scored on a penalty, setup when Getafe's Miguel Angel Moya pulled down Riki in the box and was shown a straight red card. The man advantage didn't help Deportivo as Getafe equzlied in the 25th minute when Ze Castro took down Abdel Barrada in the box, allowing Diego Castro to score from the penalty spot.
With 20 minutes to play and the match still tied, Depor’s Abel Aguilar was shown a second yellow card and sent off, opening to the door for Getafe, which they gladly walked right thDavid Navarro panicked on a free kick from Simao Sabrosa, heading the ball in to Iborra’s back and past Gustavo Munua.rough. Álvaro Vásquez and Adrián Colunga scored three minutes apart and the home side picked up three points, leaving Depor is serious trouble at the bottom of the table.
Espanyol 3-2 Levante
Espanyol continued their steady climb away from the drop zone with a wild 3-2 win over Levante. Despite domination the opening half, Espanyol couldn't break through on their own...but they did get a goal. Levante's Vicente Iborra gifted the home side an own goal in the 41st minute after David Navarro panicked in the box and headed a Simao Sabrosa free kick off Iborra's back in to their own net.
Rubén García put Levante in front three minutes in to the second half, but they couldn't hold the advantage. Christian Stuani scored in the 67th minute to put Espanyol back in front, then two minutes later they took extended their lead thanks to Sergio Garcia. Levante's Obafemi Martins brought Levate within a goal in the 87th minute but it was too little, too late as Espanyol held on for the victory.
