Claudio Villa

Last second heroics in two matches and Malaga comes back thanks to a brace from Isco to retain their hold on fourth place. Just another day in Spanish football.

Mallorca 1-1 Osasuna

Mallorca were the better side for most of the game but looked close to dropping all three points after conceding a gaol with a quarter hour to play. In the 75th minute, Osasuna midfielder Lolo headed in a Alvaro Cejudo corner from close range and put the visitors ahead 1-0. Mallorca saved a point two minutes into stoppage time when Osasuna failed to clear the ball after a long kick in to the box by and in the ensuing scramble, Pedro Geromel headed the ball past Andrés Fernández to even the game at a goal apiece.

Right before the final whistle it looked as if Mallorca had resuced all three points but Giovani Dos Santos’ goal was correctly ruled offside.

Celta Vigo 0-1 Valencia

Celta Vigo were a mere seconds away from a crucial point but a goal in the 93rd minute from Valenica's Nelson Haedo Valdez left them empty handed. Valdez had only been on the pitch for four minutes when he scored the match winner. Valdez, stationed at the far post, headed home a wonderfully placed cross from Joao Perreira. To be fair Valencia were the better side throughout and while the three points were deserved, that won't be much consolation for Celta fans.

Valencia get a nice boost ahead of their Champions League Round of 16 first leg against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

Levante 1-1 Malaga

Malaga got off to a bad start in the 27th minute when Martín Demichelis brought down Obafemi Martins inside the box and Levate were awarded a penalty. Jose Barkero scored on the penalty giving Levante the early advantage. Malaga came back strong in the 36th minute earning a penalty of their own when Julio Baptista was dragged down by Christian Lell. Isco scored with shot to the top left corner and the match when to halftime tied 1-1.

Isco added the match less than a minute in the second half, this time from the run of play beating Gustavo Munua from just to the right of penalty spot. Malaga retain their hold on fourth place with the victory, two points ahead of Valencia.

Deportivo La Coruña 0-3 Granada

It's beginning to look like Depor are destined to end up as one of the relegation victims at the end of the season after a 3-0 thumping at the hands of Granada. Depor's Carlos Marchena gave Granada a lead right before halftime thanks to an own goal and it was all downhill from there. Odion Ighalo extended Granada's lead six minutes in to the second half and Guillherme Siqueira added a penalty kick goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time.

Depor’s Manuel Pablo, who conceded the penalty, was shown a straight red card.
