The hits just keep on coming for Barcelona. Today the team announced that midfielder Xavi Hernández will miss another 10 to 15 days after suffering a small tear in his right hamstring.
Xavi Hernández suffers another hamstring injury, out two weeks
Less than two weeks after recovering from a similar injury, Xavi is back on the sidelines after suffering a minor tear in his right hamstring.
Xavi sustained the injury at some point during Tuesday's Copa del Rey loss to Real Madrid and finished the match in discomfort. He will now miss Saturday's rematch against Madrid and could miss Barcelona's Champions League second leg match against AC Milan on March 12th.
The 33-year-old had just recently recovered from a similar injury that kept him out a couple weeks. Xavi was given the all-clear to return on February 18th and played in the first leg against Milan. He also featured in Barca's 2-1 win over Sevilla.
This injury and Barcelona’s poor recent form seems to lending credence to the idea that the Blaugrana players are getting worn down thanks to an incredibly busy schedule of club and country matches over the past few years.
