Celta Vigo vs. Real Madrid: Preview and TV schedule

With their place in the next round of the Champions League secured, Madrid will look to heal up and maintain their good form against relegation threatened Celta Vigo.

Real Madrid are flying high after two straight wins over Barcelona and a Champions League Round of 16 triumph over Manchester United. There’s not much that Los Blancos have done wrong over the past couple weeks but if there was ever a situation better set-up for a potential letdown, it’s this match.

Celta Vigo are no match for Madrid, at least on paper, but there have been several teams this season that have tripped up Madrid despite having no business doing so.

Jose Mourinho will probably rest some starters after they’ve logged a lot of minutes over the past couple weeks and the league likely still out of reach.

Celta Vigo injuries and suspensions

Out: Samuel Llorca (knee), Hugo Mallo (knee).

Real Madrid injuries and suspensions

Out: Íker Casillas (hand), Angel Di Maria (hamstring). In Doubt: Sergio Ramos (muscle), Xabi Alonso (muscle), Cristiano Ronaldo (illness).

Angel Di Maria pulled up in Marid’s win over United and is expected to be out a couple weeks with a hamstring injury. Iker Casillas is recovering quicker than expected and could make his return next month from a broken hand. Ramos and Alonso played through minor injuries against United and are expected to be rested, while Ronaldo should be back from an illness. Both Llorca and Mallo of Celta are out with long term knee injuries.

Match Date/Time: 7 p.m. local, 2 p.m. ET

Venue: Estadio de Balaídos, Vigo, Spain

TV: beIN Sport USA, beIN Sport en Español (U.S.), Sky Sports 1 (U.K.), GOL T, Canal+ (Spain).
