Barcelona vs. AC Milan, 2013 UEFA Champions League: Messi scores again and it’s 2-0
Well, so much for AC Milan's advantage. Lionel Messi's second goal right before halftime has Barcelona up 2-0 and even on aggregate.
Andres Iniesta was the engine this time, intercepting the ball in the midfield and countering quickly towards the Milan area. Iniesta's pass to the right found Messi who made a quick move around a defender and buried a low shot past Christian Abbiati to make it 2-0.
To be fair the goal was coming but it’s still a brutal morale blow for Milan who were only five minutes from getting to halftime still holding the aggregate lead. Instead, they are looking like a punch-drunk fighter just waiting for the final blow or their corner to throw in the towel.
It really looks like they’ll need a massive second half effort to prevent Barcelona from finishing the comeback.
