Rio Ferdinand has earned a recall to the England squad after being left out by Roy Hodgson previously (Update: Ferdinand has withdrawn).

Rio Ferdinand has been recalled to the England squad to face Montenegro and San Marino, with Fraser Forster, Leon Osman, Michael Dawson and Kyle Walker also making the cut.


The Manchester United defender's recent form has arguably been the best among English defenders in the country, and he has duly earned himself a call-up to the squad to face San Marino and Montenegro.
His United team-mate Michael Carrick is also named in the squad, along with Leon Osman and Spurs duo Michael Dawson and Kyle Walker.
