This is the second surgery on Puyol’s right knee in the last year. He had a similar operation back in May 2012 that forced him to miss Spain’s European championship defense.

Barcelona's team doctor says Carles Puyol will be sidelined from anywhere between six weeks to three months after having arthroscopic surgery on his right knee for the second time in 11 months. This new surgery repaired damaged cartilidge in the knee and was reportedly not as invasive as the first procedure.
